MV Systems

SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONS

The MV distribution network has a nominal operating voltage of 11kV to match the local utility network.

As part of Phase 1 works, two new MV utility power switchboards are provided and installed in the switch rooms on the ground floor of the building and are configured as segregated ‘A’ and ‘B’ redundant sources.

Two Ring Main Units (RMUs) are also provided in dedicated transformer rooms on the ground floor as part of Phase 1.

Each RMU is in the same the room with the respective transformer and is connected to the other RMU in an open ring configuration.

Two MV Battery Tripping Units are provided. One for each MV Switchboard.

Under normal operation each transformer will be equally loaded), and the open point of the ring is such that the two transformers are supplied from each MV utility power switchboard.

  • 2 No. MV Utility Power Switchboards (PBB-SB-MVA and MVB)

  • 2 No. MV Ring Main Units (PBB-RMUA and RMUB)

  • 2 No. MV/LV Transformers (PBB-TXA and TXB)

  • 2 No. MV Battery Tripping Units (PBB-DCTRIP-MVA and DCTRIP-MVB)
